What is Rotary?

Rotary is a service club — local business and professional people who meet once a week and take on work the community needs done.

There are Rotary clubs all over the world, and 68 in our district alone. This one has met in Newnan since 1924.

What We Do

Rotary calls its members People of Action. Here, that means the Fourth of July fireworks, the Tour of Coweta, grants for local nonprofits, Honoring the Fallen Crosses, Service Above Self Awards for first responders, and so much more!

Tour of Coweta

Our annual bike ride rolls out Saturday, April 17, 2027, from the Coweta County Justice Center. Pick 27, 47, 62, or 98 miles.

The money it raises goes back to Coweta nonprofits. Register for $75 through December 31 at tourofcoweta.com.

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Newnan

The club was chartered on February 29, 1924, so in 102 years it has had 25 real birthdays.

Today we’re seventy-one people who live or work in Coweta County. We meet for lunch on Wednesdays, and most of what we do gets started at those tables.

Some of it goes back generations. The Rotary Cup has gone to a senior at every high school in the county since the 1930s, and the club has hosted Georgia Rotary Student Program scholars from 35 countries since 1952.

Some of it is new this year. In September, members packed 165 hygiene bags for the Coweta Samaritan Clinic. In October, they signed more than 300 Veterans Day cards with Newnan High School’s Interact club.

In August, Rotary International named the club a recipient of its Club Excellence Award for 2025-26. More about the club

Pay Us A Visit

Wednesdays, noon to 1 p.m., at the Newnan Country Club, 1356 US-29.

Lunch, then a speaker. The speakers are usually worth the hour on their own; topics vary from city government to nonprofits to amazing industry leaders.

No invitation, no RSVP, no obligation. Come and visit before you decide anything.

Check the calendar before you come. A few Wednesdays a year we don’t meet, including several around the holidays.
