What is Rotary?

Rotary is a service club — local business and professional people who meet once a week and take on work the community needs done.

There are Rotary clubs all over the world, and 68 in our district alone. This one has met in Newnan since 1924.

What We Do

Rotary calls its members People of Action. Here, that means the Fourth of July fireworks, the Tour of Coweta, grants for local nonprofits, Honoring the Fallen Crosses, Service Above Self Awards for first responders, and so much more!

Our hour-long meetings are on Wednesdays at noon at the Newnan Country Club.

No invitation, no RSVP, no obligation — come meet a few people and see whether it's for you.

Community Grant Cycle Open!

Every year, this club puts money back into the county where it meets. Our community grants go to 501(c)(3) organizations doing the work here — and much of that money comes from the Tour of Coweta, the cycling event we host out of the historic Newnan train depot.

Last year’s grants went to a free medical and dental clinic, a literacy program that mails books home to preschoolers, a school-based mentoring program, an adaptive dance company, and a Christmas sponsorship program for local families. What those five have in common isn’t a category. It’s that each one does something specific and useful for people who live here.

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN THROUGH NOVEMBER 1

If your organization holds 501(c)(3) status and serves Coweta County residents, we’d like to hear from you. The application page has the full requirements and the five documents you’ll need to upload.

The committee reviews every application through November; applicants hear back in mid-December; and awards are presented at the club in the first week of January.

12 pm to 1 pm, every Wednesday at the Newnan Country Club.

Lunch, then a speaker. The speakers are usually worth the hour on their own; topics vary from city government to nonprofits to amazing industry leaders.
