Membership Information

The Rotary Club of Newnan is seventy-one people who live or work in Coweta County. We meet for lunch every Wednesday, and between those lunches we run the Fourth of July fireworks, award scholarships at every high school in the county, pack food for children, and fund grants for local nonprofits.

Members join for different reasons and stay for the same one: the work is real and it gets done.

What You Get

People. You will know a hundred years' worth of this county's business and civic life within a year.

Perspective. Every week someone stands up and tells the room something worth knowing — a city manager, a college president, a nonprofit director, a student from the other side of the world.

Something to do. Rotary is not a club you attend. It is a club you work in.

What Is Expected

  • Attend. Members keep at least 50% attendance across the year. Miss a week and you can make it up within fourteen days, including at any other Rotary club in the world.
  • Take part. Serve on a committee and turn up for projects.
  • Pay dues. Quarterly, covering club dues, meals, and the club's share of Rotary International, District 6900, The Rotary Foundation, and the Georgia Rotary Student Program. Ask us and we will walk you through the current figures.

Where the money goes

How Joining Works

Nobody hands you an application on your first visit.

  1. Visit three times — a lunch, a social, and a service project. See the club from all three sides before you decide anything.
  2. Ask for an application, or let our membership chair offer you one.
  3. The board reviews it, and the club is notified.
  4. A sponsor and an induction date. You will be inducted at a meeting, introduced to the club, and given your Rotary pin.

That is the whole process. It takes as long as it takes.

Start With Lunch

Wednesdays at noon at the Newnan Country Club, 1356 US-29. We finish at one. No invitation and no reservation.
