Money raised in Coweta County, spent in Coweta County.
Each year the Rotary Club of Newnan awards community grants to 501(c)(3) organizations working in Newnan and Coweta County. Much of the money comes from the Tour of Coweta, our annual cycling event out of the historic Newnan train depot.
We keep the program deliberately broad. Last year’s grants went to a free medical and dental clinic, a literacy program that mails books to preschoolers at home, a school-based mentoring program, an adaptive dance company, and a Christmas sponsorship program for local families. What those five have in common is not a category. It is that each one does something specific and useful for people who live here.
Any 501(c)(3) organization whose program or project benefits Coweta County residents. Applications are submitted online.
We consider every application without regard to race, sex, religion, color, creed, disability, national origin, ancestry, or age.
One thing: come back and tell us what happened.
Every organization that receives a grant files a report on what the money did — in numbers, and in its own words. We publish them, because anyone who rode in the Tour of Coweta or dropped money in a bucket deserves to see where it went.
